Me and my buddy decided to road trip to Yellowstone from Dallas with no planning. We were wanting to find somewhere to camp, and without looking into it, we thought it would be very easy to secure camping somewhere around the park. We were extremely mistaken. After driving around for hours looking for anywhere to set up camp, we started calling hotels. Collectively we called about 10 hotels before calling the Madison. They told us they had one room available and we told them we were on our way. We got there and they told us that they had one motel room for x amount and one hostel room for a cheaper amount. We asked to look at the hostel before booking and after seeing it, we chose the hostel. It was great. Clean, only one hallway of rooms, nice showers and bathroom. It really did feel like being at home, whereas a hotel never does. It felt to me like staying in an upstairs saloon room in an old western. We stayed one night and decided to book 3 more. The owner talked to us multiple times and recommended spending one day driving the Beartooth Pass, which we did and was one of the highlights of the entire trip. Could not be happier. This place is an absolute diamond. I hope to be back in the future.
